FTC Will Grant Six-Month Delay
The Federal Trade Commission has announced it will suspend enforcement of the new “Red Flags Rule” until May 1, 2009, to give creditors and financial institutions additional time in which to develop and implement written identity theft prevention programs.

Identity Theft Prevention - New Federal "Red Flag" Rules
Information on the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) new rules which require the adoption of identity theft prevention programs. The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions (FACT) Act of 2003 took effect January 1, 2008, but entities covered by the rule have until November 1, 2008, to implement programs to comply with the rule.
